Rome

OK so spoiler alert if you are yet to read my 'Italian Cities Ranked' post but....

Rome is my absolute favourite.

Rome - much like Athens - just does something for me that I can’t quite explain.

If you love city life, ancient architecture and fascinating history, you will love Rome.

It's romantic yet rugged. Old but beautiful. It has so many layers to it that you will want to keep going back again and again.

My advice for visiting Rome?

Do not spare any expense. And by this I don't mean splash out on unnecessary shit. I mean budget correctly before you go so that you can enjoy everything you want to.

Do that guided tour round the Colosseum. Go on that Vespa ride. Eat that 8th bowl of pasta. Throw £10 worth of coins in the Trevi Fountain.

Enjoy it all.

Top Sights

The Colosseum and Vatican alone are mind-blowing, but Rome is so much more than just those.
