Lisbon is a truly magical city - from the pastel buildings that line the streets of the old town to the epic Padrão dos Descobrimentos overlooking the Tagus river, this city has plenty of eye candy.

Couple that with the thriving food scene, antipodean coffee spots and endless assortment of cocktail bars - you’re in for a treat!
Lisbon is a city you’ll want to fuel up early on as you climb the endless hills of this epic city and what better place to start than The Mill.
Breakfasts
The Mill is an epic Australian/Portuguese brunch spot with some of the best coffee and food to match. We enjoyed an epic breako here after a long morning of exploring - park up and enjoy a cracking flat white (all hand roasted by the team at The Mill as well) and order yourself a big ol colourful plate of goodness! Hot tip: opt for The Melbourne and add bacon (thank me later).
Dear Breakfast is another spot known for both it’s great coffee and colourful plates. If your body just can’t handle anymore fried food because you got into a few too many Super Bocks the night before then park up here and get your hands on one of their many acai bowls or granola pots - sure to make you feel good about yourself in the depths of even the worst hangovers.
Potentially a little indulgent for breakfast in bland ol’ Britain but Pasteis de Belem’s Pastel De Natas’ are considered breakfast of champions for locals and tourists alike here. These guys have been making this ever so delectable treat since 1837, now I'm sure it was shit hot in 1837 and 186 years on it is one of the best little treats i’ve ever gotten my mitts on. These guys bake and sell around 20,000 pastel de natas a day - A DAY! So when you get there and there’s a bit of a que spare a thought for all the guys and gals in the bakery slugging it out! These little guys are only 1.20EUR each - I recommend you split a 6 pack between yourself and your significant other and go enjoy them in the Jardim Botânico Tropical - a botanical garden right next door.

Coffee
Copenhagen Coffee Lab - don’t let the scale of this mega specialty chain put you off, these guys are popping off all over Europe for good reason, they found the formula! If you find yourself on a working holiday in Lisbon as so many freelancers do, then park up here with your laptop, order a bunch of coffee and munch on one (or many) of the freshly baked treats!

Lunches
Don’t let the major publication brand association turn you off - Time Out Market Lisbon is jam packed with the best of the best. Timeout Lisbon has curated an epic, epic selection of food and drink spots under this iconic roof. We recommend hitting Croqueteria (the city's only dedicated croquette spot) for a selection of lovely croquettes! Don’t forget to wet your whistle at the super bock bar!
Dinners
Tapa Bucho - epic food but a bastard to find! If all the best spots were easy to find they’d be filled with shit head tourists like us so you kind of have to respect it! Wind yourself deep into the cobbled streets of Bairro Alto where you may just be lucky enough to stumble across this spot. You can not go wrong with this established tapas bar, the service, the food and the vibe all a 10!
José Avillez is the Gordon Ramsay of Lisbon (for lack of a better comparison) he’s a great chef and he holds a couple michelin stars to go along with that title, that’s why his spot Bairro Do Avillez is so popular. 4 different eateries under one roof - the atmosphere alone is worth the visit!
Hot tip: if you want to feel like king of the castle for a meal opt for the Pizzeria Lisboa and sit atop a Mezzanine looking down at people eating at Pateo (the boujee) spot below.
