Top sights in Barcelona

V Adventures

I think Barcelona has the longest list of sights out of all of my blog posts! You could spend weeks in Barcelona, and believe me I would too if I could!

Barcelona was the city that had the most ‘activities’ for us out of all of our trips in 2021, and keep reading to work out why!

TIP: If you are thinking of visiting a few of Guadi’s incredible sights [and you absolutely should!], it might be worth your while getting a city pass, and saving yourself a few quid! This will give you discounted entry into many of the main attractions, and will save you ending up with heaps of tickets!

1. Sagrada Familia

Arguably the top of every tourist's list when visiting Barcelona, the Sagrada Familia is so captivating, it’s fascinating how weird and wonderful this building is. I actually got quite emotional being inside! Of course you’re going to go - you can’t not!

2. Flamenco Show

This was probably one of the best things we did in Barcelona, it was a hidden Gem and I am so glad we experienced this! It was an authentic Catalonian experience, the performance was incredible and it’s definitely something you should do whilst you’re there!

3. Camp Nou

Being a huge football fan, this is going on my list. However even for a non footie fanatic, it’s still a pretty cool stadium and Barcelona are one of the biggest teams in the whole world. Do a stadium tour or catch a game, either way you’ll have an epic time.

4. Park Güell

This place is literally like Gaudi’s playground. There are so many intricate patterns and buildings, it’s such a cool place to be.

5. Carmen Bunkers

HIDDEN GEM ALERT.

Located off the beaten track near Park Güell, these old war bunkers will give you one of the best views of Barcelona. It might be a little tricky to locate, but SO worth it. Check out this post for full directions, so you don't have to go stumbling through someone's back yard like we did!

6. Casa Mila

Another one of Gaudi’s masterpieces, this house is full of art, stories and history.

7. La Rambla

This long and mighty street is the main strip in Barcelona, and is home to many shops, bars, restaurants and street performers.

8. Ciutadella Park and Arc De Triomf

Yes, Barcelona does have its own Arc De Triomf!

Ciutadella Park is a great spot for a picnic, people watching, chill out or even lie down! You wouldn't think that you're in a bustling city like Barcelona when you're sat inside this park. It's even where Barcelona Zoo is located!

It’s got lots of green space and lakes inside, and on the outskirts you will see Barca’s answer to Paris!

9. Casa Batlo

Gaudi sure was a genius. This is yet another building designed by the man himself, and would be included in your city pass should you get one!

10. Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya / Montjuic

I really enjoy this area. It’s very tranquil and is a little out of the centre, meaning that it’s not as full on.

Not only is there a very cool water fountain/waterfall, there is also a viewing tower that gives you great views.

Not to mention The National Museum of Art of Catalonia which has some incredible Catalan art, Roman exhibitions and fascinating collections.

11. Barceloneta Beach

Barcelona might not be the most obvious place you think of for a beach holiday, however in Summer it’s the place to be! The fancy W Hotel is also on the seafront if you want a nice stay.
