Top sights in Sydney
Sydney's got so much going for it, you absolutely need at least 4 days if you're going to get the best experience possible. Regardless of how long you've got there, here are some things you do not want to miss seeing.
1. Opera House
The Opera House is one of the most recognisable buildings in the world, whether that’s for good or bad! The surrounding area of Circular Quay is also epic to walk around, and so absolutely make time to go here. You can sit at Opera Bar and have a drink overlooking the Opera House if you wish, or you can go and watch a performance inside! They don’t just have Opera, but also music concerts, dances and workshops!
2. Harbour Bridge / The Pylon
If the Opera House is #1 on Sydney’s most famous structures, the Harbour Bridge is #2. If you’re not scared of heights, you have to do the bridge climb. It’s a once in a lifetime experience and should be done by all in my opinion. However if you prefer to save your pennies and your nerves, then right next door you will find the Pylon. This is not as high as the bridge itself, and once you’ve walked up some steps to the top you will have views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House in the same shot!
3. Darling Harbour
Darling Harbour has it all going on. It’s got the ICC for your big headline concerts, it’s got the waterfront, the Sealife Centre, heaps of bars and restaurants and it also has lots of tourists. It’s a popular spot for a reason, but it’s still worth adding to your list.
4. Mrs Macquarie's Chair
I love this little spot for a good sunset! It’s across the bridge and so is north of the city, and is a great place for a picnic, some beers, and to watch the sunset over Sydney.
5. Beaches
There are SO many beaches in and around Sydney that I’ve had to write a whole post dedicated to this topic. However if you can only do 1, do the Bondi to Coogee Walk and do 2 instead!
I’ve also written a post on the best walks in Sydney as there are PLENTY of these for yOU as well.
